Integration Support and Practices

Personal Integration Aftercare

We at Intertwining Medicines understand the deepest healing and long term transformations happen in the months after a retreat. Integration is not a one size fits all, and this process looks different for every person that works with ayahuasca. To honor the powerful ceremonial work we hold and maintain the intimacy of our container, we offer every guest personalized support after their retreat with six private online sessions. This is a step beyond what other ayahuasca centers offer with generic integration guideline packets or automated weekly emails following a retreat.

These private online sessions take place on Zoom or Skype, and are very helpful when learning to sail the sometimes unpredictable waves of ayahuasca integration. With our intentional small group structure in mind, we created this integration offering so our guests can feel comfortable, understood, and supported by the same team who was present with them throughout their journey in Peru.

Intertwining Medicines is committed to helping you become your own lighthouse so you can feel confident in navigating life after your ayahuasca retreat.

Practice makes permanent… tools to support your integration.

Ayahuasca holds the potential for a grand reset. It is a voyage into death and rebirth that can be the catalyst for total metamorphosis. Quite often people mark the end of a retreat as the beginning of a new chapter. The purging and purification process creates space in the mind and body, and you become the architect to rebuild and design exactly what you want within this newfound spaciousness. Imagine a blank canvas on which you paint your visions, desires, hopes, and dreams to call in your best life possible. With the help of the plants, you learn to empower your greatest teacher and ally - you.

Aside from the practices of yoga and mindfulness meditation during our retreats, we encourage you to try some of these simple practices and see what resonates.

Art Therapy

Art has a way of penetrating the subconscious mind. Using art as a medium to express your internal world can help empty a dam of feelings, thoughts, and emotions. Art therapy doesn’t require skill as an artist, only a willingness to draw outside the lines and color outside your boundaries. Anything goes when you permit it to flow.

Journaling and Poetry

“It is written” is a famous phrase that can be applied to the ongoing and powerful teachings of ayahuasca. Putting a pen to paper is a known form of magic imbued with your physical and energetic signature. Language shapes our perception… when we shift our language, we shift our filters of the world thereby shifting our direct experience with life. Journaling is an integration practice we encourage for authentic expression and self inquiry.

Poetry, much like art, has no limitations and doesn’t require specific skills. It’s an open space for raw emotions and thoughts to pour onto paper beyond the constructs of normal language and logic.

Discovering the Sacred in the Mundane

Rituals are laced with intention and fueled with mindfulness. You have the ability to turn almost anything into a ritual, including your morning cup of tea or coffee. Your attention and intention going into whatever you are “ritualizing” can turn an autopilot activity into a magical experience of presence and bliss.
