Kano

Therapy Dog and Ceremony Assistant

Kano incarnated here to bring joy and smiles to humans, and was always destined to be a medicine dog. Born sometime in the middle of December 2020 (actual date unknown), Kano arrived in Lacey’s life by fate only a few weeks after his birth when he was sick, weak, and in need of a forever home. Lacey was in a plant diet on the guesstimated day of his birth, feeling in her diet that she was finally ready for her Peruvian cosmic doggie. She was hoping for a small, white dog as her former dog was also small and white with a long body and short legs (like Falkor the good luck dragon). There are no coincidences.

Kano joins us in the maloka during ceremonies and peacefully respects the space. He intuitively knows who needs the grounding and loving presence of a dog, and has helped many guests feel relaxed and loved throughout their stay with us.

His name “Kano” is a Shipibo word that translates to Channel, Pathway, or Vision. Sometimes he is called “Hosho Kano” which means White Channel.

“Woof! I love people, plants, steak, playing frisbee, belly rubs, and the adventure of life!”
